rainy days
the days lately have been pretty lately and i thank God i've got no school on wednesday to friday. the the tempreture is super cold... although not as cold as when i first arrived, but still cold enough. or have i gotten used to the climate? hmm..
anyways, today have been unproductive (study wise) like really.. if there's no deadline, i'm pretty relaxed.. there would just be this slight buzzing behind my head that deadline is drawing near.. and i think i've gone to handle that amount of stress. which explains the increase in hair loss....
good thing i've got thick hair.. hur hur.. oh and i went for a haircut couple days ago too. to be precise, its a trim really. no one could see the difference. hmm, except tuo! haha.. so i don't feel too depressed over spending $30 auzzie bucks on a trim.. its was much needed.. i do feel better.. perhaps it was all a psychological thing to begin with..
i really should get started on my tutorials.. been installing game after games today only.. argh..
oh, here's a nice joke/story to share (again) hee....
Communications in ancient times..!after digging to a depth of 100 meters last year, Russian scientists have found traces of copper wire dating back 1000 years, and came to the conclusion that their ancestors already had a telephone network one thousand years ago.
So, not to be outdone, in the weeks that followed, American scientists dug 200 meters and headlines in the US papers read: "US scientists have found traces of 2000 year old optical fibers, and have concluded that their ancestors already had advanced high-tech digital telephone 1000 years earlier than the Russians."
One week later, the Singapore newspapers reported the following: "After digging as deep as 500 meters, Singapore scientists have found absolutely nothing. they have concluded that 5000 years ago, their ancestors were already using wireless technology.

The Mayonnaise Jar and 2 Cups of Coffeewhen things in your lives seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 cups of coffee.
a professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. when the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar n proceeded to fill it with golf balls. he then asked the students if the jar was full. they agreed that it was.
the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. he shook the jar lightly. the pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. he then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.
the professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. of course, the sand filled up everything else. he asked once more if the jar was full. the students responded with an unanimous "yes." the professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand.
the students laughed. "Now," said the professor as the laughter subsided, "i want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. the golf balls are the important things - your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions - and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.
the pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car. the sand is everything else - the small stuff. "if you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. the same goes for life. if you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you. "pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. play with your children. take time to get medical checkups. take your spouse out to dinner. there will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. take care of the golf balls first - the things that really matter. set your priorities. the rest is just sand."
one of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. the professor smiled. "i'm glad you asked. it just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."

everyone shares this area as well

dining area!
is eh, combined with living room

ta-da!! my room's "walk-in wardrobe"
siao lor! for 2 gals and only this size!?!

the "study area"
my table is the white one on the left. furniture is expensive, even from ikea ok!! thus the size... oh, and the middle thing is our 'obiang' heater. lol

our beds! mine is the colourful one~ bought the quilt cover at the departmental store as i couldn't stand the original. it was too disgusting.. trust me, you don't wanna sleep in it either

my hands were full with shells so she helped me lug my crumpler around

last scenic shot on the beach..

sunset.. without the sun

sunset.. the colours was really nice in real life. my camera didn't do it justice

i got pink roses on national day! which is also our 2nd year anniversary.. time flies..
this is the picture after i took the whole bouquet apart, cut the stalks, peeled off the wrinkled petals and threw away all the LEAVES. the original presentation was horrid lor! it was a massive of greenary and the roses stood far from each other. what made it worse was that some of the roses were so wrinkled! that flower shop should just close down or let me take over.. n_n
anyways, thank god there was the make-shift 'vase', apparently it didn't belong to anyone but have been sitting in our kitchen for ages. recycled the pink ribbon from the bouquet for the finishing touch.. heee..

close up~

i leave it on my balcony in the morning for fresh air and sun. :)
finally done! ^-^

empty promises
its been quite a couple of days now.. since alex said he'll be online but he isn't. so i just sit and wait.. and theres no news. perhaps something's really caught up. but i wonder how could the internet be fine one day, down the next? and if u say it'll be up, and then the day after tell me its not and that singtel will fix it.. is it really so serious?
anyways.. thanks peeps for checking on me. :)
i've also been scolded by someone for not taking the initative to chat with ppl online. thus i'm lonely? which i guess kinda make sense and in any case i'm utterly guilty of not taking initiatives.. ugh.. so i shall try to change.. and will start by deleting some ppl off my msn. there's like almost 400 contacts? i don't know how it grew so big but i thought i deleted some already.. hmm
a side note that should i delete something by mistake (god forbid) please don't think i hate you. i probably think you don't know who i am since.. well.. since i never heard from you over the past year? yes.. i suck at keeping friendships alive..
